Tom Sandoval Has Done It Again, Comparing The Fame Of "Scandoval" To The Likes Of OJ Simpson And George Floyd
“I’m not a pop-culture historian really,” Sandoval said. “But I witnessed the O.J. Simpson thing and George Floyd and all these big things, which is really weird to compare this to that, I think, but do you think in a weird way it’s a little bit the same?”
Just when I thought this man couldn't get any more tone deaf and narcissistic, he does it again. Tom Sandoval did an interview with the New York Times (behind a paywall btw, don't bother) and continued to run his mouth in ways no one on earth could've expected.
When asked about the "fame" result of Scandoval, Tom had a SHOCKING perspective on the level of...popularity? I guess he's trying to say? For those may have stopped caring, Tom is from Vanderpump Rules, a reality show on Bravo. He cheated on his girlfriend of 10 years with another girl in the group...and that's it. It was a big "pop culture" moment for those of us who love a scandal in the Bravo universe, but outside of that, it wasn't a worldwide movement or some kind of tentpole to be referenced in history books for years to come. Apparently though, not according to Tom!
Imagine comparing the fallout from your infidelity on a Bravo reality TV show, to the likes of the OJ SIMPSON TRIAL or the GEORGE FLOYD MURDER? I'm not even going to touch the race aspects of this, even though they are GLARINGLY OBVIOUS even to him, but it doesn't stop him from bringing them up in the same sentence as his own personal drama. If we really are talking "global phenomenons" - I just can't imagine a world where you are this oblivious to think that you belong on the pantheon of "famous tragedies to happen on TV." What a fucking joke.
